Board of Trustees
A voluntary board of trustees governs Littleton Regional Hospital. This board includes representatives from our North Country community who are business leaders in the area, working together to make a difference in the lives of many.
Bill Bedor, Chair
Mr. Bedor joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2006. He currently serves as the Board Chair and previously served as Treasurer and Vice-Chair. In addition he is a member of the Executive, Governance, Quality and Professional Relations Committees. He's a local entrepreneur involved in a variety of business activities including the Mt. Washington Cog Railway where he serves as the Chief Financial Officer. He's a graduate of UNH and attended the former New Hampshire College, now SNHU. In addition, he is involved with a number of civic and charitable organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of the North Country and the Granite United Way.
Edward S. (Ned) Brewer, Jr.
Mr. Brewer joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017. He practiced law for over forty years and is now retired from Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP where he was a founding partner of the law firm. Mr. Brewer currently serves on the board of Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust, a local land trust since 2014. He previously served on the Board of Trustees for MAB Community Services and Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Harvard College in Boston, MA and his Doctor of Law Degree as Boston College Law of School in Boston, MA.
Frederick L. Chisolm
Mr. Chisolm joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2018. He currently works as the Plant and Site Manager for Burndy, LLC in Littleton, NH since 2008. His extensive experience stems from operations restructuring, corporate-level strategic planning, and project implementation. His operations background includes management, international affairs, and implementing LEAN manufacturing improvements. Mr. Chisolm received his MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, Chicago, IL where he was also Class President. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Control Systems from Yale University, New Haven, CT.
Patrick M. Fitzpatrick, DO
Dr. Fitzpatrick joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017 as Chief of Staff. He joined the LRH medical staff in 2010 and is currently an Otolaryngologist practicing with North Country Otolaryngology, a hospital owned practice, on the LRH Campus. He is also a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Fitzpatrick received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology from University of Wisconsin in Green Bay, WI, his Medical Degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA, and he completed his clinical internship and residency at St. John Hospital Macomb Center in Detroit, MI.
Ashley W. Garrison
Mrs. Garrison joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2018. She currently works as the Project Coordinator for Presby Environmental, Inc. Prior to 2012, she was an Associate Attorney for Samaha, Russell, Hodgdon PA. Currently she serves as a Board Member and Secretary for the Franconia Children's Center, Inc. and is a member of the LRH Fundraising Committee. Mrs. Garrison received her Juris Doctor from the University Of New Hampshire School Of Law in Concord, NH and a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, MD.
Roger Gingue, Vice Chair
Mr. Gingue joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2012. He currently serves on both the Finance and Quality Committees. Mr. Gingue received a Bachelor's and Master's of Science Degree in Business Management from Plymouth State College and is the Chief Financial Officer for WM Connors Footwear in Lisbon, NH and Norwood, MA. His is active in the local community and past President of the Lisbon Main Street Committee, and is a past member of the Business Industry Association of New Hampshire. In addition, he was the 2001 recipient of the Business Industry Association's Above and Beyond Award and a Past President of the Lancaster Rotary Club.
Stephen Goldberg, MD, Chief of Medical Staff
Dr. Goldberg joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2016 as Chief of Staff and was elected to the Board in 2017. He is currently the Director of Hospitalists Services at LRH. Dr. Goldberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Sackler School of Medicine in Ramat Aviv, Israel, his Medical Degree from Fordham University in New York, NY, and he completed his clinical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, MA.
Erin Hennessey, Secretary
Ms. Hennessey joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2014. She currently serves as the Secretary and is on the Finance Committee. Ms. Hennessey received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Management and Accounting from Boston College and is an independent accounting consultant. Ms. Hennessey is also a State Representative in the New Hampshire Legislature serving Grafton 1. She also serves her community as a member of the New Hampshire Public Television Board of Directors and as the Volunteer Coordinator for Friends of Lakeway.
Mrs. Kunz joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017. Since retiring as an Attorney, she practices law part-time with Titus, Ryan, Schaefer & Kunz, P.C. from her home. She currently serves on the Quality Committee at LRH since 2016. Prior, Mrs. Kunz served on Quality and Finance Committees, chaired the Board of Trustees, and served on the System's captive insurance company board for Southcoast Health System, Inc, in Massachusetts. She received her BA from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and her Law Degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA. In addition, Mrs. Kunz has many years of pro-bono work for non-profits.
Nicholas Marks, MD, FACOG
Dr. Marks joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017. He is currently an Attending Physician for North Country Women's Health at LRH since 2004. Dr. Marks is a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He currently serves as the Chair of the Utilization Review Committee, and previously was Chief of Staff at LRH in 2010. During his tenur of Chief of Staff, he served on the LRH Board of Trustees. He received his Bachelors Degree at Hamline University, St. Paul, MN, his Medical Degree at University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis, MN, and completed his clinical residency and internship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
Mrs. Laurie Morgan, Auxiliary Representative
Mrs. Morgan joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2015 as the Representative from the Littleton Regional Healthcare Auxiliary. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from William Paterson University. Mrs. Morgan is an active volunteer with Littleton Regional Healthcare and has been a member of the LRH Auxiliary since 2006. In addition, she has significant volunteer experience with both St. Rose of Lima in Littleton, NH, and St. Mary's Church and School in Pompton Lakes, NJ.
Robert Nutter, President
Mr. Nutter joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017. He currently serves as the President at LRH. He previously served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Mercy Health Systems of Maine in Portland. Prior to working in healthcare administration, Mr. Nutter served as an executive with Marriott and with a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. He received his BS in Business Administration and Management at University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME, attended New Hampshire College Graduate School of Business in Manchester, NH and also received his CHE Executive Health Leadership certification from Seton Hall, South Orange, NJ. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, the Society of Human Resource Management, and the American Society of Human Resource Management.
Deane Rankin, MD
Dr. Rankin joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2010. He currently serves on both the Executive and Professional Relations Committee. Dr. Rankin joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Medical Staff in 2000. He is an Otolaryngologist practicing with North Country Otolaryngology, a hospital owned practice, on the LRH Campus. He received his Medical Doctorate from the Indiana School of Medicine, completed an Internship with the University of Vermont, and completed a Residency Program at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. He is Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Rankin is also the Co-Chief of Surgery at Littleton Regional Healthcare, and previously served as Medical Staff President.
John Sauter, MD, Emeritus
Dr. Sauter is a Trustee Emeritus on the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees. He joined the Board in 1984 and has been an active Board Member ever since. He currently serves on the Professional Relations Committee and is the Chair of the Quality Committee. In addition, he is the Chair of the Littleton Regional Healthcare Fundraising Committee, helping to guide our fund raising efforts to support much needed health care programs and equipment. Dr. Sauter joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Medical Staff in 1979. He is currently an Attending Physician for North Country Women's Health at LRH. He received his Medical Doctor Degree from the State University of New York College of Medicine, completed an Internship with Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, and a Residency Program with the University of Vermont prior to becoming a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Sauter is also the Co-Chief of Surgery at Littleton Regional Healthcare, and previously served as Medical Staff President.
Edward Shanshala, II
Mr. Shanshala joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2017. He currently serves as CEO at Ammonoosuc Community Health Services. He currently serves as the Board President for North Country Health Consortium Board of Directors. He has received his Masters of Science in Health Systems Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY and his Masters of Science in Education from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. ACHS identified by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recognized Mr. Shanshala as a National Quality Leader. In addition, Mr. Shanshala has several publications on topics regarding team building, quality services, and endocrinology.
Chief Paul Smith
Chief Smith joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2018. He currently serves as the Chief of Police for the Town of Littleton. He has held this position since 2007 and started with the Department in 1992. Previously, he served in the United States Army where he attended Central Texas College and received a degree in Criminal Justice. Chief Smith is a member of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, a Board Member of on the Advocates for Grafton County Mental Health, a member for the 2nd Circuit Court, Littleton Division, Mental Health Court A.S.S.E.R.T Team, and a team member for the Grafton County Superior Drug Court. He has received numerous awards and has participated in various trainings to help serve our community.
Mr. West joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2007. He currently serves as CEO for North Country Healthcare, bringing with him 30 years of healthcare and management experience. Prior to NCH, he served as CEO at LRH for nearly 10 years. He received his BA in Public Administration at Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, PA, his MPA in Health Care Administration at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ and his MBA in Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. In addition, Mr. West is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Jeff Woodward, Treasurer
Mr. Woodward joined the Littleton Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees in 2014. He is the Managing Partner of the Whale's Tale Water Park and Alpine Adventures in Lincoln. Mr. Woodward holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality from Paul Smith's College. He served as the Board Chair of the White Mountain Attractions Association for two years and now is an ex-officio member. He is an active volunteer with the Town of Franconia, and serves on both the Board of Directors for the Adaptive Ski Sports Partners of the North Country and the Boys and Girls Club of the North Country.
