Pink Hair for Hope

October 5, 2011

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and people from all over find meaningful ways to support this important annual event that helps to raise awareness about the fight against breast cancer. This year Fresh Salon & Day Spa will host Pink Hair for Hope days at Littleton Regional Hospital placing pink hair extensions on individuals including staff, volunteers and community members on Wednesday, October 12th and Friday, October 14th from 10 am until 4 pm. The Spa staff will be located in the lobby of the New Medical Office Building at LRH and outside the cafeteria during the lunch hour. Pink hair extensions can be purchased for $12. The Spa will also offer Pink Hair for Hope at the salon during the entire month of October. Drop-ins at the Spa are welcome.

This is the third year the Fresh Salon and Day Spa has hosted a Pink Hair for Hope initiative during the month of October and the second year they have come to LRH to further promote this important initiative. The Salon donates 100 % of the proceeds to the LRH Charitable Foundation to be used for women who are unable to pay for a mammogram. According to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, "Women below poverty level are less likely than women at higher incomes to have had a mammogram within the past two years."
