LRH Completes Meaningful Use Stage I Attestation

July 19, 2012

Littleton Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that it has completed its Stage I Meaningful Use Attestation. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 encourages health care professionals and hospitals to adopt certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) technology and use it in a meaningful way to improve patient care. Per Gary Tomlinson of The Regional Extension Center of New Hampshire (RECNH), who guided LRH through the attestation process, LRH is one of only 6 Critical Access Hospitals in the state to attest to Stage I Meaningful Use.

"We are committed to be at the forefront of patient care and safety. Our state of the art facility and our investment of resources and personnel in the technology that supports that goal illustrate that commitment. We are thrilled to have met the requirements for Stage I Meaningful Use" said Warren West, CEO of LRH.

Linda Gilmore, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Administrative Officer notes that "The use of technology has afforded the doctors and clinical staff access to a wide array of patient information at their fingertips. Lab results, medications, allergies, previous hospital visits etc. are all easily accessible to the healthcare team and help to paint a broad and inclusive picture which aids in making a timely diagnosis and starting treatment plan."

"We could not have achieved this significant milestone without the dedicated efforts of all our healthcare providers, nurses, clinical staff, build and training teams, support staff and IT team. We would also like to thank our patients and our community for their patience as we implemented the new electronic health information system. Our continued commitment to advancing the quality of patient care and improved patient safety, has been worth the effort" states West.
