Littleton Regional Healthcare "LRH" has provided quality healthcare services to our North Country since 1906. From its beginning, charitable giving has been an essential part of the growth of LRH and the well-being of our community.
Please join us in our mission to provide quality, compassionate and accessible healthcare in a manner that brings value to all.
Your gift will make a difference - LRH is here for our family, friends and neighbors from the first moment of life to the final precious breath. People often ask, "What can I do to help?" There are several ways your gift, regardless of the size, can make a difference.
Our Grateful Patient Program is an opportunity to say thank you to a member of our care team, an area of care, or a program that made a difference in your life.
The LRH Fundraising Committee is pleased to support the hospital's fundraising efforts so that we can continue to provide you with state-of-the-art healthcare from our expert and caring team.
Your gift truly matters. As a non-profit charitable organization, we are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our North Country communities. Your support makes a difference for every patient who comes through our doors.
In 2018, LRH committed $1,115,000 in community benefits and charitable healthcare - along with programs and services for patients and their families in the communities we serve.

The Starfish Fund
Established in February 2021 by a generous donation made by Carol Anne Gillis
One day, a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, the man asked, "What are you doing?"
The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they will die."
"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can't make a difference!"
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.
Then, smiling at the man, he said... "I made a difference for that one."
This is the original story written by Loren Eisley and is what inspired Carol Anne Gillis to make a donation to Littleton Regional Healthcare earlier this year to establish The Starfish Fund, a permanent endowment fund that will provide financial assistance to patients in need who are receiving cancer treatments at the LRH Oncology, Hematology, and Infusion Center.
Carol Anne Gillis is a breast cancer survivor. In 2005, after her treatment, she attended a breast cancer support group. Carol Anne, who was blessed to have medical expenses covered by her insurance, was touched deeply by the stories of those who were not so fortunate.
In February, Carol Anne reached out to Littleton Regional Healthcare to discuss making a generous donation to establish a permanent endowment fund where the principal of the fund remains untouched with only the investment income being used for the purpose of the fund annually. Carol Anne discussed the possibility of reaching potential donors who may have an interest in further supporting The Starfish Fund in order for the Fund to continue to grow. Her wish is to see The Starfish Fund grow to help patients needing financial support related to any type of cancer treatment at Littleton Regional Healthcare. Carol Anne realizes that like the starfish story, The Starfish Fund can't help everyone, but with the help of other people, it can reach so many more.
